About Alexis

I’m Alexis Schmidt, owner of Chart Your Course and an independent college consultant. I began my educational journey at Bowling Green State University where I received my B.S. in Education with a concentration in Sport Management and Entrepreneurship in 2019. In 2020, I began a master’s program in Educational Leadership - Higher Education and Student Affairs at
Eastern Michigan University, which I completed in 2022.

While completing my master’s program, I spent three years at the University of Michigan mentoring student-athletes, working with them on time management, organization, study skills, long- and short-term goal setting, course planning, and more. I discovered my passion for mentoring students while working at Michigan. As part of my master’s program, I gained experience working with the Honors College, TRiO Student Support Services, and Student-Athlete Support Services at Eastern Michigan University.

My experience allows me to serve students all the way through college, beginning with the application process and continuing through post-college planning. I’m committed to providing students with personalized plans that meet their individual needs and wants to ensure their educational journeys are as stress-free and successful as possible.

I pride myself in making sure the students I work with feel valued, supported, and seen as individuals who each have a different path to follow, during their college years and beyond.
